Public Health Laboratory The Vermont Department of Health Laboratory (VDHL) performs testing to monitor Vermont’s population and environment for threats to public health. When there is a threat, such as a novel strain of disease, a natural disaster, a chemical spill or a foodborne outbreak, the laboratory is prepared to respond. The laboratory consists of full time employees. The Microbiology Laboratories are licensed by the State of Tennessee Laboratory Licensing Service (LLS) and certified by the Department of Health and Human Services Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CLIA Laboratory Certificate of Compliance) to perform clinical testing.
The Public Health and Environmental Laboratories (PHEL) offer laboratory testing services supporting the New Jersey Department of Health, the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) and other federal, state and local agencies who protect the public’s health.
We operate one of the largest public health laboratory systems in the world with 11 locations across Ontario. We are at the forefront of laboratory technology, testing and research. Our Purpose The Office of the State Public Health Laboratory Director (OSPHLD) protects the public health by assuring accurate and reliable clinical, environmental and public health laboratory services through the provision of support services, consultation and regulatory compliance oversight to the six independent public health laboratories that comprise the State Public Health Laboratory.
